Dr. Sakina Kermali
DDS, MSc. PDC (Edinburgh), RCSEd, Pg Dip Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics (UK)
Who is she?
Dr. Sakina is a highly trained and licensed dental practitioner. She possesses over 13 years of practice and experience. Therefore, she possesses a wealth of experience in treating a vast number of dental issues in patients of various ages. She is passionate about her craft and strives to deliver the best experience for every patient. She also has a special interest in dentofacial orthopedics which entails diagnosis and treatment of dentofacial discrepancies in children at an early age which can improve their profile if treated early enough.
Qualifications
She holds Doctor of Dental Surgery from Muhimbili University in Dar-es-salaam (Tanzania). Additionally, she is qualified with a Master of Science in Restorative Dentistry from the University of Edinburgh (Scotland). Hence, she is also a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She has also attained a Post Graduate Diploma in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics (UK) and is always upskilling and updating her knowledge and expertise.
Experience and Treatment Philosophy
Dr. Sakina is passionate about providing the highest quality evidence based dental care.
With a gentle bedside manner, she is a firm believer in patient experience and participation in treatment planning. She presents treatment options, explaining the details of each treatment plan. Therefore, this allows the patient to make informed decisions based on their preferences.
She has experience in treating patients of all ages but is especially good with children. Boosting their self-esteem and confidence removes the fear factor thus making the dental care experience fun for kids.
Dr. Sakina also has great experience in dealing with special needs patients. She focuses first on learning about and understanding their special needs requirements. Allowing them to first fully acclimatise to the clinical setting before setting out on any treatments. This ensures a smoother treatment and patient experience.
